NAVTEX Pad allows users to access NAVTEX and Radio Teletype (RTTY) marine weather transmissions on their iPhone, iPod Touch, or iPad. By placing the device near a radio or connecting a cable from the radio's audio output jack to the microphone jack for enhanced decoding quality, users can tune in to a NAVTEX frequency (usually 518 kHz) and observe the transmissions.

NAVTEX weather and marine safety messages come from numerous stations globally. With NAVTEX Pad, users can conveniently view these messages without the need to invest in a dedicated NAVTEX receiver.

The app supports decoding of both BAUDOT and ASCII RTTY, with options to select the shift and baud from standard values. Users can save received text for future viewing or transfer it to a computer through iTunes.

Upcoming NAVTEX transmission schedules are accessible within the app, ensuring users are always informed about upcoming broadcasts.
